a bunch of firsts we could do without.

february 21, 2007

probably the worst day of bee's life since she came out of the hospital. we were at the office on bainbridge and bee was riding on my back in her ergo carrier. we packed up to leave and i went to shut the door to the deck and even though it wasn't hard to close, i just knew by her silence. i had shut the door on poor bee's little hand. i opened the door and the wail began. her poor fingers were all depressed and blue at points...and her hand was so red. i didn't stay too well composed. i ran bee next oor to our neighbors who are a wonderful group of ladies, and luckily experienced mama's. they quickly got the ice pack on her hand and helped soothe bth of us. we ended up taking bee to the doctor on the island and they gave her x-rays to make sure that her growth plate hadn't been fractured. all was fine. she was again a trooper -- after the inital cry, she didn't cry again until the doctor began prodding her, and then again when the x-ray tech woke her up from her nap. she was sleeping on the x-ray table!

Then to top it off that night and the three days following, bee experienced her first hgh fever. two nights of 104 degrees plus. we felt so bad for her. Her little body was so hot.

To top it all off, out pops her first tooth on top!

Our girl was put through the ringer today!
