Happy Birthday to Bee!
What a wonderful birthday day. The sun shined all day long on you. It felt like such a celebratory day. I found myself all day long thinking about what I was doing a year ago today. We started the day by walking to our playdate at Priest Point Park. It is an absolutely beautiful park and we are so lucky it is right in our back yard. The sun was coming through the trees on the way down and it made me so happy!

We played at the park with our dear friends the Mathesons. Elise, Celee and Cale were so excited to greet you with birthday wishes and give you your present.

We spent the afternon with our friends in our parenting class. You love to play and climb all over this toy set. We were doing an activity with balls but you could hardly concentrate because you wanted to climb up and down these stairs.

We left class and headed north to the lake. We spent the remainder of the afternoon napping and playing and working in the garden. When papa came home we loaded up and went down to Robin Hood on the canal for a wonderful dinner. We joined in your celebratory day since it was also our ten year anniversary. Before dinner we walked down to the little creek that runs by the restaurant. We had to hold you back because you wanted to take a swim.

After dinner we put a candle in your spelt apricot walnut muffin that we bought at Blue Heron Bakery.

You were captivated by the fire, so captivated that you grabbed the flame before papa and I could stop you. You looked shocked for a second and then let out a huge cry. There was a table of six women behind us who were celebrating two of their girlfriends birthdays. They had stopped to listen to papa and mama sing and as soon as you started to cry they immediately started to sing again and you stopped crying right away and stared at them wide eyed -- they loved it.

When we got home you had decided you wanted to enjoy as much of your birthday day as possible. You stayed up later than you ever have stayed up, finally going to bed at 10:36...which I figured out was about the exact time my water broke. Then I too had trouble geoing to bed and found myself getting a drink of water at 11:46 -- then finally falling asleep a few minutes later...I like to think I fell asleep at 11:55, a year from the moment you were born.
What a day, what a year! Happy Birthday Berkeley!
