A weekend of "firsts"
So this past weekend you had a lot of "first" moments. We spent the weekend in Boise with family (grandpa and grandma borowicz, aunt ginny, uncle jimmy, cousin addy and cousin jack) and friends (uncle matt, aunt cassie, tanner and alex). We also went down to celebrate the wedding of the UI president when I worked there -- Bob Hoover and his UI assistant Leslee Yaryan. It was a wonderful celebration -- we saw so many good friends.

Our first "first" happened on the plane to Boise. You sucked your thumb for a good long moment. We were so happy to capture it in photo form! You are a very loud thumb-sucker, but of course cute!
The next "first" happened Thursday evening at Aunt Ginny's. We were talking and set you on your belly and you flipped right over to your back. It caught us all by such surprise because you had never even made any moves to roll and then you just did it in one giant show. We continued to try and recreate it (see photo below) but you haven't done it since.

The third "first" was your first time being babysat. We promised Ginny & grandma and grandpa that they could babysit you one night. Since the wedding was on Saturday night we agreed to go out to dinner with Matt and Cassie on Friday night. Grandma and Grandpa didn't make it down in time to watch you but the Lyke Clan was happy to have you all to themselves. You had one crying fit after Aunt Ginny had to wake you up after you fell asleep on a walk. She figured out what calms you -- she took you outside to listen to the crickets, smell the fresh air (with a bit of forest fire smoke), and look into the trees. You are a nature girl. The picture below is before the moment they whisked you away from papa and me. We only called home 4 times which we thought was pretty good for first-timers.

Saturday we spent the day with everyone. We walked down to the Art in the Park and you met your Uncle Mike, your Grandpa Egland's brother. He assured us that the Egland side can claim some of your red hair as well. He tried to show me the red hair on his legs but it had turned grey, but he claims it was once red. Ha! Then we came back and hung out with everyone. I got some nap time with grandma and grandpa.

Papa bought you the most beautiful little green dress for your first fancy party. You looked so cute. You were the perfect party-goer. You were awake and batted your little eyelashes for the first half and then the second half you laid in my sling asleep with your little hands crossed across your belly. Everyone was style="font-style:italic;">SO HAPPY to see you, and see you looking so healthy. You got to see Joanne and Bill again, that was a highlight for mama.

The party wore us out and we slept in on sunday morning and then you took your sixth plane ride home!
